Coming off one of the most active offseasons in recent memory the Eagles are looking to be contenders once more. With the additions of guys like AJ Brown, Chauncy Gardener-Johnson, Haason Reddick, and Jordan Davis this Eagles squad will look to be possibly one of the best in the NFL. Here I’ll be breaking down how I think this season will shake out for the Birds. I’ll share my predictions on the Eagles record, stats, and finish. I’ll also talk about my expectations and predictions for the season. Without further adieu, let’s get right into it.

Record: 13-4, NFC East Champions, 2nd Seed in NFC

Many have been hesitant to put the Eagles at anything over 10-12 wins this season, and that is understandable. There are many unproven’s on this roster such as Jalen Hurts ability to lead a real playoff team, the Eagles young and inexperienced coaching staff, and the question of if this roster will be able to gel. Now while im not overlooking any of these points, I do think we have been a bit too critical of Jalen Hurts and his development. Last season Hurts had one of the best quarterbacking performances we’ve seen in a long time from a young QB in Philadelphia. He was able to lead a young mostly unproven Eagles squad that was projected with some of the best odds to land the number one pick, to the playoffs. I have zero doubt that he can’t do it again, this time with possibly the best roster in the NFL around him.

The Eagles offense this year looks poised to be tops in the NFL, with the best Oline in Football and one of the best compliments of weapons we’ve seen since 2017 there is little doubt that this offense won’t be scoring 25+ points a game. And I think it is safe to say if the Eagles high powered offense isn’t dropping 30+ on opponents every week that they will be able to rely on the defense to get the job done. This Eagles defense looks to be tops in the league this year with players like Haason Reddick, James Bradberry, Jordan Davis, and Chauncy Gardener-Johnson joining the fold. The Eagles pass rush now looks incredibly scary. With the likes of Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, and Haason Reddick bearing down on opposing O-lines it will make it difficult for any offense to operate.

3 Big Predictions

1: Eagles make it all the way to the NFC Championship)

Since Howie Roseman was rehired as GM in 2016 he has preached one constant, that being win as many games as possible no matter the cost. It’s pretty safe to say the Eagles have accomplished that over the last 6 seasons. Since Roseman’s promotion, the Eagles hold a record of 51-45-1 and have made the playoffs 4 out of the previous 6 seasons along with 2 NFC East titles and a Super Bowl Championship. Howie continued his winning attitude this summer with one of the most active offseasons we’ve seen from the Eagles since possibly 2010. This team was built to win, and if the guys in charge push the right buttons and these players click, they will.

2: The Eagles defense will rank top 3 in the NFL

While the Eagles brought in guys such as AJ Brown, Zach Pascal, and Cam Jurgens on offense this summer. The main focus of the offseason was clearly on building a strong defense. Now as the season quickly approaches it would seem the Eagles have one of their best defensive cores in recent memory. With a pass rush that consists of Multiple pro bowlers, like Fletcher Cox, Javon Hargrave, and Josh Sweat along with Haason Reddick who annually ranks among the top in sacks across the league. The defensive backfield looks just as scary with two Pro Bowl corners (Darius Slay, James Bradberry) manning the outside, while the likes of Chauncy Gardener-Johnson and the young hungry Marcus Epps lurk upfield. If Jonothan Gannon can master the controls of this Mack Truck of a defense he was given, I strongly believe this unit will be amongst the best in the NFL

3: Jalen Hurts proves the doubters wrong and has a Pro Bowl like season

I have been quoted speaking praises of Jalen Hurts and defending him on multiple occasions and that will not stop now. As I said in the open, Jalen Hurts had an amazing year last season considering the expectations of him and his team. We’ve seen so much growth in Hurts’ game over the past 3 seasons and he has given us no reason to believe that his development will stop anytime soon. Hurts is one of the best young QB’s in the game and I believe that with the weapons the front office has assembled around him he will indeed make the jump and be the reason the Eagles will have such great success.
