GLENDALE - The Eagles received their first whiffs of possible defeat in Arizona, but as the fate of their undefeated record rested on the left leg of Matt Ammendola, the aroma of victory crept right back in.

Coming into today’s game in, fears of the Birds possibly overlooking a faltering Cardinals squad for next week’s huge Sunday night matchup with the Cowboys became a reality. As the contest trudged on, the Eagles second-half struggles that have plagued them through the first 5 weeks, continued.

The Birds mustered only 6 points after halftime, while the Cardinals continued their late second-quarter rally cutting through the Eagles defense like a knife through butter. But as all good teams do, they showed up when it mattered most. That, along with a little bit of luck got the Birds out of Statefarm stadium unscathed.

The lack of proper protection showed early in the game, as the Birds were without both Landon Dickerson and Jason Kelce for a time. We saw the aggressiveness of the Cardinals defensive front increase as they took advantage of the Eagles young inexperienced line. This along with tough converge all afternoon made it difficult for the birds to get anything going in the air. However, as we saw the poise and composure of Jalen Hurts was enough to get the Eagles offense going. Hurts rushed for two touchdowns and 61 yards on 15 carries, making him the Birds leading rusher once again.

While the Eagles continue to bend but not break, victory seems to become more and more difficult to come by each passing week. It’s hard to say if this is a building tool or something to worry about. As of now, the Philadelphia Eagles are 5-0, and that is all that matters until they prove otherwise. Now, the next step to 20-0 is Sunday Night Football back at the Linc with the Dallas Cowboys. A game that will undoubtedly be the biggest test yet for this Eagles squad. But for now, wherever you are, good morning, good afternoon, and goodnight, and of course Go Birds!
