Sam Ersson became the most unlikely of hers as the Flyers dominated the Ducks, sweeping their California roadtrip.

ORANGE COUNTY. CA - Good games have been few and far between for the Flyers this season, but as the team summits a 3 game win streak things have begun to seem a little less bleak in South Philadelphia.

Wins have no doubt been hard to come across if you are the Flyers this season, so when we get a night like this where the Orange and Black are simply dominating the competition we have to enjoy it.

From the jump there was very little question as to who was in the driver's seat tonight. With two early goals from Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost, the Flyers cemented their cause early and never turned back. Anytime the Ducks would attempt to surmount an offensive attack or setup in the O-zone there was a stick there to break it up or the glove of Samuel Ersson to keep a clean sheet.

Ersson, who got the call from AHL Lehigh Valley just two weeks ago, undoubtedly played one of the best games of the campaign in net by any of the Flyers keepers, and that is saying a lot considering how well Carter Hart has played this year. The rookie tendy faced 29 shots while stopping 28, nearly pulling off the elusive shut out, but Ryan Strome would sneak one in with just 50 second remaining in the game to eliminate the goose egg bid.

Travis Konecny and Scott Laughton would pitch in to the offensive cause during the second and third periods to further the exasperate the Ducks defense which had to deal with a Flyers offense that may have played at its highest level all year. Despite only putting 33 shots on net, the Flyers held possession of the puck for nearly the entire game and played keep away for the majority of the third period, playing with the Ducks like a cat with a mouse.

Like I said earlier, games like these don’t come around all too often for a struggling team like the Flyers. Though they may be streaking now, another 8-9 game losing skid could be right around the corner. That is why they need to stay vigilant, a young and hungry team such as this should be excited to keep moving forward especially after one of the best stretches of play they have had this season. Now we hope that the veterans and coaches will keep them fresh. Their next opportunity to stretch the streak will come Thursday night when the Arizona Coyotes come to town.
