ST LOUIS - THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ARE MOVING ON, there is truly no way for a fan like me to put to writing how I feel about this game. Im sure thousands of people across the Delaware Valley feel the exact same way. There is something about going down to the final out and never having a second to look away or catch your breath, that makes postseason Baseball so incredible.

At various points throughout the season, I said in my articles and game recaps that this Phillies team had “IT”. I said it so much that it even started to become a cliche, and when the Phillies began losing games down the stretch and the playoffs started to look bleaker and bleaker each day, it nearly became an afterthought. But I will tell you, a team that is able to do what this Phillies squad just did has to have something special to them.

To fight back from the adversity of losing your MVP, your Ace, your star second basemen, and nearly half of your bullpen. Then, to win crucial games down the stretch and catch a streak just as the campaign was wrapping up. And finally to sweep a St Louis Cardinals team that was heavily favored to beat you. This team is special and there is nothing anyone can say to change my mind.

While I could go on and talk about the contributions of every player on this roster, I need to try and keep this brief. Alec Bohm, Bryce Harper, and Aaron Nola were the guys that got the job done for the Fightins tonight.

Starting with Bohmer, who made possibly the two greatest defensive plays of his career in the field that may have saved the night for the Phils. Next is the MV3 himself Bryce Aaron Max Harper, Harper clobbered his first postseason home run in a Phillies uniform giving the Fightins an early 1-0 and sliding the momentum to the Phils side for the rest of the game. And Finally, Aaron Nola, Noles pitched 6.2 scoreless innings and was the number one reason the Phillies ended up on the winning side of this matchup. Without that kind of production from Nola and the pitching staff, those two runs would not have been nearly enough to stop the high-powered St Louis offense.

It’s easy to say that without any one of these players, this team would not be here today. It is so easy to say that because it’s true. Honestly, no team makes it this far without the help of every last player on their roster. If this squad wants to keep this magical run alive they are going to need every player they got, to give everything they’ve got come Tuesday in Atlanta. But for now wherever you are, good morning, good afternoon, and good night, and of course Go Phils!
