SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - The news broke that Carter Hart would be held out of tonight’s game just hours before puck drop. And it was safe to say that the high hopes of fans dropped a bit headed into an eventual barn burner in South Philly.

Just as it seemed the Flyers were getting hot again, the news on Carter Hart dropped. However, Felix Sandstrom, who has struggled to this point in the year. Stepped up and filled in admirably for the ailing Hart. The young keep held his own, defending 27 of 28 shots and allowing only 1 goal. This did come as a bit of a surprise as Sandstrom has notably struggled to this point in the campaign; allowing 11 goals in only 3 games played.

The Flyers offense, which has struggled to get its feet off the ground in games past, Took off tonight. Getting contributions from all across the ice with five different goal scorers. One of the biggest was scored by one Lukas Sedlak who was recently acquired off waivers from the Avalanche. Sedlak, a 2011 6th-round pick has struggled to get a real footing in the NHL since making his pro debut in 2016 with Columbus and John Tortorella. The Flyers are now hoping he can be yet another cast-off to turn his career around in the orange and black.

It was another all-around great win for the Flyers who have taken the city by storm in a year when nobody gave them a shot. Though it is still early, hopes are high for this young, fun, hardnosed, Flyers club. Now they look ahead to Thursday night when John Tortorella will lead his team out to Columbus to face his old squad.
