The Phillies shut down the Baltimore Orioles 5-0 Tuesday evening in South Philadelphia to take the series win in the second game of this mid-week series.

Things kicked off early in the bottom half of the second inning.

Nick Castellanos started the hitting train with a double, then was followed by a Brandon Marsh RBI double. Max Kepler then came up with a man on, and hit a home run to right field. The Phillies took an early lead, 3-0.

A huge positive from tonight was Phillies starter Taijuan Walker. For the first time since 2016, Walker pitched six innings without allowing a run or walk.

Bryson Stott tripled in the fourth and brought home another run.

Fast forward to the eighth, Brandon Marsh hit a solo shot to add some insurance while adding onto his excellent night at the plate as well. Something that came a bit to the fans' dismay as satirical boos rained down from the crowd as Marsh rounded the bases. Marsh’s homer relieved the Phils of a save situation and saw Jhoan Duran take his seat back in the bullpen.

Max Lazar would take the ninth and help complete the shut out.

The Phils look to bring out a little broom action Wednesday afternoon, and secure the sweep against the Orioles. Left-Hander Ranger Suarez will get the start, first pitch is at 12:35.
